Chaos Space Marines: My first Daemon Prince

So I decided to go with Chaos Space Marines, frankly because I just thought they looked the most interesting to paint.  Now that I'm 2500 points deep into them and just placed 2nd in my first ever tournament, which just so happened to be the 'Ard Boyz Tournament last weekend, overall I'd say I'm quite pleased with them.

When I started my army my first purchase was my Daemon Prince.  I was a bit, and still am, of a novice at painting and I've come a long way since, but I truly feel my Daemon Prince was done quite well.  Especially considering I'd never painted anything prior to that except some terrible looking minis for D&D when I was around 15.  So the below is the early stages, not much technique here, just slapped on some paint and shaded the creases of his muscles with some dark navy blue.

Then we have the accessories, because everyone knows that accessories are the key to fashion right? I mean, just look at Johnny Depp...

... no but really, here are the accessories.  First are the Shoulder pads...

Halloween much? Meh, came out descent I suppose. Lets keep in mind my army will be Black Legion, So the black/gold is a bit of a staple, not sure why I threw the orange in there, just thought it looked cool I guess?  And next we have the knee pads... Helps protect those shiny red caps against Grey Knight rapage. And a general apology for the picture quality, wasn't actually planning on starting a blog with this stuff at the time I painted any of this, so I really didn't take pictures to present in an orderly fashion.

And we have the back side, with some more nice gold trim. And yes, my DP's Wargear includes Booty Pop undergarments, isn't it obvious?

Finished Product..

So that is my DP.  He has served me well.
